Overview
We are seeking a professional HGV Class 2 Driver to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating an 8 wheel tipper to deliver goods to different areas. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers with a strong focus on safety, punctuality, and customer service. Applicants must hold a valid HGV Class 2 licence and have relevant driving experience.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate an 8 wheel tipper lorry to transport goods to various locations within the UK.
- Ensure all deliveries are completed accurately and on time, maintaining high standards of customer service.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any issues promptly.
- Secure loads properly using appropriate restraints to prevent movement during transit.
- Adhere to all road safety regulations and company policies during driving and delivery operations.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs in accordance with legal requirements.
- Assist with loading and unloading goods when necessary, ensuring proper handling procedures are followed.
- Follow planned routes efficiently, adjusting as needed for traffic or other unforeseen circumstances.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly 8 wheel tipper vehicles or similar large lorries.
- Strong driving skills with a clean driving record and valid HGV Class 2 licence.
- Knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for secure cargo transportation.
- Excellent organisational skills to manage schedules and delivery routes effectively.
- Ability to work independently, demonstrating reliability and punctuality.
- Good communication skills for liaising with clients and team members professionally.
- Experience with delivery driver roles is highly desirable, along with familiarity with loading/unloading procedures.
