Labourer with Forklift License
- Salary: £13.45 per hour with 15% shift allowance (c£33,000)
- Shifts: 11.5 hour days (5 on, 5off, 4 on, 4 off)
- Hours: 6:45am-7pm & 6:45pm to 7am
- Based at Hemerdon Mine, ~10 miles northeast of Plymouth. No public transport to site. Own vehicle essential.
Tungsten West plc is a mining development company focussed on the restarting of the world-class Hemerdon Tungsten-Tin mine located in South Devon, UK. The Company is the 100% owner of the previously producing Hemerdon mine, which is currently the 3rd largest tungsten resource in the world. With demand for strategic metals, including tungsten and tin, increasing rapidly due to their critical use in new technology, Tungsten West is focussed on meeting this demand by restarting production at Hemerdon in the next 12 months.
Join the team working on the mine re-start, being an integral member throughout the project re-build, commissioning/ramp-up and into production.
Job purpose:
Tungsten West are seeking several Labourers to work within a team of 6, reporting to the Plant Superintendent within the Projects Team.
The position will be pivotal in ensuring the safe and seamless operation of the various construction areas across the mine, responsible for a range of activities from unloading of construction materials, boundary fence adjustments, delivery and banks-person support and general housekeeping activities.
The position supports a seven day a week construction program requiring a shift-based rota covering seven days a week across both days a nights with 5 on, 5 off, 4 on, 4 off rotas (6:45am-7pm or 6:45pm-7am)
Responsibilities:
- Work as a professional, upholding the standards of best practice at all times.
- Take responsibility for the Health and Safety of yourself and others whilst at work and to comply with the Company’s policies and procedures.
- Providing general support and assistance to operational staff of the mineral processing facility.
- Maintaining general site tidiness, which will involve some manual material movement and hosing of spillage from floors.
- Assisting in the operation of mobile equipment if required.
- Assisting with concentrate bagging and blending.
- Assisting in the preparation of reagents.
- You are responsible for your allocated workload and must meet all targets as agreed with your Line Manager. You must contribute towards the smooth running of the minerals processing facility.
- From time to time you may be expected to be part of special projects as reasonably required in your job role.
- Ensure compliance with codes of practice and legislation, including health and safety.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Physically fit and able to perform manual labour
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with others.
- Possesses a strong work ethic.
- Ability to take initiative and work independently and as part of a team.
- Positive attitude with an eagerness to learn new things.
- Previous labouring experience would be beneficial
- Confined Spaces would be very advantageous
- **A driving licence + own transport is needed for this role due to our location**
