Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Senior Care Worker to join our dedicated team within a care home environment. The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to our residents, supporting their wellbeing, and supervising junior staff. The role involves working with care plans, ensuring residents' needs are met with dignity and respect, and maintaining effective communication with colleagues and families.
Duties
- Provide personalised care to residents in accordance with their individual care plans, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.
- Supervise and support junior care staff, fostering a positive team environment and ensuring high standards of care delivery.
- Assist residents with daily activities such as mobility, personal hygiene, medication administration, and meal preparation.
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided, including updates to care plans and incident reports.
- Support residents in engaging with social activities and community outings, including driving when necessary.
- Communicate effectively with residents, their families, healthcare professionals, and team members to coordinate care and address concerns promptly.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, safeguarding policies, and confidentiality standards.
- Contribute to the organisation’s continuous improvement initiatives by participating in team meetings and training sessions.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working within a care home setting specialising in senior care.
- Supervising or leadership experience within a healthcare environment is highly desirable.
- Valid driving licence and ability to drive residents or staff when required.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build rapport with residents, families, and colleagues.
- Knowledge of care plans, safeguarding procedures, and relevant health & safety legislation.
- Competent IT skills for maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Compassionate nature with excellent organisational skills to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
