Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Dance Teacher to join our vibrant team in Newport. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging dance lessons with their own choreography & planning, across various styles, fostering a positive learning environment, and inspiring students of all ages and skill levels. This role offers an exciting opportunity to share your expertise and enthusiasm for dance while helping students achieve their personal goals.
Duties
- Plan and deliver high-quality dance classes tailored to different age groups and skill levels (Individual should be confident working with ages 3.5+, in large groups).
- Demonstrate proper technique, posture, and movement to students, ensuring safety and effective learning.
- Motivate and encourage students, fostering confidence and enjoyment in dance activities.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organised studio environment at all times.
- Keep up-to-date with current dance trends, techniques, and industry best practices.
- Cover regular sessions if available.
Qualifications
- Proven extensive experience working with children and young people.
- Experience as a performer/training with a strong portfolio of dance styles (e.g., ballet, jazz, street dance, lyrical).
- DBS Certificate
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and inspire students of all ages.
- Strong organisational skills to plan lessons and manage class schedules efficiently.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit individual student needs and learning styles.
- A positive attitude, patience, and enthusiasm for teaching dance.
- First aid certification is advantageous but not essential. This role is ideal for someone passionate about dance education who thrives in a dynamic environment dedicated to artistic growth and personal development.
