Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in delivering high-quality meals and maintaining a clean, organised kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a keen eye for food safety standards. Responsibilities
- Assist with meal preparation, including chopping, peeling, and basic cooking tasks
- Support the culinary team in food safety and hygiene practices according to industry standards
- Organise ingredients and supplies to ensure efficient workflow during busy periods
- Help with cleaning and sanitising kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces
- Prepare ingredients for cooking or serving as directed by senior staff
- Assist with serving food to customers or guests as required
- Ensure all food handling procedures comply with health and safety regulations
- Support the team during catering events or special functions by helping with setup and breakdown
Experience
- Previous experience in catering, restaurant work, or food preparation is desirable but not essential
- Familiarity with kitchen environments and basic cooking skills are advantageous
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices is preferred
- Experience in meal preparation, food presentation, or serving roles will be beneficial
- A proactive attitude with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment is essential
