SENCo Job Overview

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage SEND provision across the school
- Develop and implement effective SEN strategies and interventions
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, parents, and external agencies
- Ensure compliance with the SEND Code of Practice and statutory requirements
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation
- Support and train staff on inclusive teaching practices
SENCo Requirements
- National Award for SEN Coordination (SENCo qualification) or
- Significant secondary school SENCo experience
- Strong understanding of SEND legislation and best practice
- Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively within a busy school environment
