We are looking for an enthusiastic and engaging Recorder Club Instructor / Woodwind Tutor to lead a weekly after-school beginner Recorder Club for Year 1 and Year 2 pupils at a primary school in Warwick. This is a fantastic opportunity to introduce children to the enjoyment of music, helping them build confidence, rhythm, listening skills, and basic instrumental techniques in a fun, encouraging environment.
The club runs Mondays, 3:10pm – 4:10pm (1 hour per week) during term time.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a small group of Year 1 and Year 2 pupils during beginner recorder sessions.
- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons that develop musical awareness, rhythm, coordination, and recorder-playing skills.
- Inspire a love of music while encouraging confidence, participation, and creativity.
- Adapt activities to suit the needs and abilities of young beginners.
- Liaise effectively with school staff and, where appropriate, parents regarding children's progress and participation.
- Ensure all instruments, resources, and teaching spaces are safe, organised, and prepared for each session.
Experience & Skills
- Experience teaching recorder, woodwind, or beginner music lessons to children in schools, clubs, or similar educational settings.
- Ability to engage and inspire young learners in a structured yet enjoyable environment.
- Strong English communication skills for working effectively with children, staff, and parents.
- A background in music education, instrumental tuition, or performance is desirable.
Pay: £30.00 per hour
