Job Description – Assistant Manager
£25000 pa + Bonus.
RESPONSIBLE TO: Branch Manager & Operations Manager
We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Manager to join our team. The position is based in our Windsor Branch.
The position is full-time working 5 days a week, 4 week days and the Saturday (upto 3 Saturdays per month). Our office hours are Monday to Friday 9am to 5.00pm & Saturday 9.00am to 3.00pm
JOB PURPOSE
To focus on delivering excellent customer service and the highest store standards to enable maximum sales growth and achievement of set budgets and targets. Also ensuring the correct routines, procedures, policies and processes are adhered to and maintained in order to run a disciplined, safe, secure and effective store operation.
KEY PRINCIPLES OF THE JOB
- Managing customer accounts
- Debt management
- Delivering exceptional customer service to all customers
- Handling customer enquiries which include face to face, on the telephone and via email
- Helping and advising customers on their self-storage needs and availability
- Entering customer information on the database & following up enquiries
- Signing up new customers
- Selling merchandise to customers in store
- General housekeeping and maintenance of the store
- To ensure that the Store Standard is adhered to and understood.
- To adhere to all policies, procedures and routines, whilst making sure that all requests are dealt with in a timely manner.
- Maintaining at all times a clear focus on exceeding the customer’s expectations and increasing sales through a proactive attitude to marketing the store.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Sales – Working with the Store Manager to maximise and seek out opportunities to increase sales and achieve targets. Ensuring that the sales process, as detailed in the Sales and Marketing brief, is always put in to practise at every enquiry and with every potential customer.
- Standards - Maintaining the Store Standard ensuring that the daily, weekly and monthly routines and cleaning rota are adhered to.
- Customer Service - The store team should be fully focused on delivering excellent customer service and exceed the customer’s expectation by ensuring that we put the customer first, always.
- Security, Health & Safety - The store must operate in a safe and secure environment for both our customers and staff. This will be achieved by assisting the Manager in ensuring that store audits are completed, that all legal requirements are complied with, and that all maintenance issues are dealt with in a timely manner. Any issues should be reported immediately to Operations Manager.
- Compliance / Administration – The store must adhere to, and comply with all company policies, procedures and routines. All records must be maintained and filed as per the office layout plan. All new initiatives must be successfully implemented and maintained.
Ideal Candidate:
You will have worked within a face to face customer service environment with experience of working to targets. You will be confident when dealing with people, with excellent communication skills and a friendly and enthusiastic attitude. Knowledge and experience required using Excel, Word & Outlook. This position is a full-time position and will require some lone working once training is completed.
