Designated Part Time Dental Nurse (Hygiene Support Focus)
We are a busy, friendly, and well-established dental practice seeking a GDC-registered Dental Nurse to take on a designated chairside role supporting our hygienist team.
With four hygienists currently working within the practice, this is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and organised nurse. A position which may particularly suit a nurse who is interested in progressing towards a hygienist role, offering valuable experience working closely within hygiene clinics.
The Role
The successful candidate will work primarily chairside alongside our hygienists, ensuring their clinics run smoothly and efficiently. You will play a key role in maintaining excellent standards of patient care and cross-infection control.
While your primary focus will be supporting the hygienists, you may also occasionally be required to:
- Assist with decontamination duties
- Support other clinicians when needed, contributing to the smooth day-to-day running of the practice
Key Responsibilities
- Chairside assistance to hygienists
- Full responsibility for hygienists’ instruments, stock, and surgery preparation
- Maintaining high standards of cross-infection control and ensuring strict adherence to practice protocols & procedures
- Supporting efficient management of hygiene clinics and patient flow.
- Assisting with use of the EMS Airflow GBT machine (training provided if not previously used)
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- GDC registered (essential)
- Highly organised and reliable
- Flexible and comfortable working with different hygienists and working styles
- Proactive and confident in managing hygiene patients and hygiene diary.
- A strong team player with a positive, can-do attitude
