This is an excellent opportunity for a person interested in working as part of a team to maintain quality, budget and deadlines. The Sous Chef will have daily interaction with the Executive Chef, and will work closely with other kitchen staff on an on-going basis. The ideal Sous Chef candidate should possess both some managerial and culinary experience, knowledge of food safety and food handling.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all food is prepared according to company and health regulations.
- Follow company guidelines on food safety and handling.
- Follow recipes and check ingredients to ensure that meals are correct and up to standard.
- Prepare dishes for customers.
- Prepare dishes that have multiple components in a timely manner.
- Provide a welcoming atmosphere for customers, giving them friendly advice and recommendations on food.
- Take drink orders in a timely manner and serve drinks to customers.
- Accurately document the status of food supplies in order to maintain a sufficient inventory of food items.
