The Role
As a Childcare Practitioner, you will:
Build meaningful, trusting relationships with young people
Support them to manage emotions and develop positive behaviours
Promote independence and life skills
Work collaboratively with a strong, supportive team
Contribute to care planning and daily routines
Provide consistent, nurturing care that helps young people live their best lives
You will be instrumental in empowering young people to regulate their emotions and achieve positive outcomes.
Who We’re Looking For
We welcome applicants with or without prior experience. What matters most is your attitude, values, and willingness to learn.
You will need:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A caring, resilient, and positive approach
The ability to build strong professional relationships
A commitment to personal development
Willingness to achieve a Level 3 or 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare (fully supported)
Full training is provided, with ongoing development opportunities throughout your career.
Shift Pattern
This role includes sleep-in duties (our homes are settled and do not operate waking nights).
10 shifts per month (rolling rota)
Shift structure:
10:00 – 23:00
Sleep-in
07:00 – 10:30 (following morning)
Rolling rota pattern:
Week 1: Monday, Wednesday, Saturday
Week 2: Tuesday, Friday, Sunday
Week 3: Thursday
Pay & Benefits
Starting salary: £32,000 (inclusive of sleep-ins)
£50 per sleep-in (paid even during annual leave)
