About the Role
Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker to join our Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) on a part-time basis.
This is a fast-paced, critical frontline role where you will be responsible for screening referrals, applying safeguarding thresholds, and supporting timely, high-quality decision-making to ensure children and families receive the right support at the right time.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply excellent threshold judgement to ensure appropriate safeguarding decisions
- Screen and triage referrals within MASH timescales
- Work effectively in a fast-paced environment, making timely and informed decisions
- Contribute to and attend strategy discussions, presenting information to support multi-agency decisions
- Collaborate closely with partner agencies and internal teams
- Maintain high standards of written and verbal communication
- Support team delivery and uphold a strong teamworking approach
Team Structure
- You will be line managed by a MASH Team Lead
- Work alongside professionals from multiple agencies in a collaborative safeguarding environment
Working Pattern
- Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday
- First 2 weeks fully office-based to support induction and team integration
Requirements
- Qualified Social Worker
- Significant MASH experience (essential)
- Strong safeguarding knowledge, including threshold application
- Ability to work confidently in a high-pressure, fast-paced setting
