Manufacturing Engineer – Co. Tyrone
Talent Curve Recruitment is managing a search for a motivated Manufacturing Engineer to join a premier heavy equipment and materials handling manufacturer in Co. Tyrone. This permanent, site-based role focuses on optimising assembly processes, implementing Lean initiatives, and supporting the transition from design to production.
Core Responsibilities
- Process Optimisation: Analyse assembly workflows to eliminate bottlenecks, reduce cycle times, and improve overall factory efficiency.
- Lean Implementation: Drive the adoption of Lean manufacturing tools, including 5S, Standard Work, and Kaizen events across the factory floor.
- Tooling & Jigs: Design and implement bespoke assembly tooling, welding jigs, and lifting fixtures to improve safety and quality.
- DFM Collaboration: Partner with the R&D team to review new designs for manufacturability (DFM) before full production release.
- Floor Support: Act as the primary technical point of contact for assembly and fabrication teams to resolve build-phase engineering queries.
- Documentation: Create and maintain detailed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), process routings, and workstation layouts.
Candidate Profile
- Education: Degree or HND in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience: 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production engineering role, ideally within a heavy machinery, structural steel, or automotive sector.
- Technical Skills: Practical knowledge of steel fabrication, welding, assembly sequencing, and basic CAD (SolidWorks/AutoCAD).
- Aptitude: A proactive, hands-on problem-solver with strong communication skills to liaise between the design office and production floor.
- Logistics: Full UK driving licence.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary Range: £35,000 – £45,000 per annum (Negotiable based on experience).
