Family Assistant / Housekeeper (Part-Time)
Location: St Helens
Hours: 2–5 days per week (flexible)
Pay: £16–£22 per hour (depending on experience)
About the Role
We are looking for a reliable, proactive Family Assistant / Housekeeper to help manage the day-to-day running of our home.
We are looking for someone who can take ownership of keeping the house clean, organised, and running smoothly, whilst also supporting with meals, errands, laundry, and general family organisation.
This role would suit someone who enjoys creating order, is naturally organised, and notices what needs doing without needing constant direction.
Key Responsibilities
Household Cleaning & Organisation
- General and deep cleaning and upkeep of the home
- Daily tidying and resetting of rooms
- Organisation of drawers, cupboards
- Hoovering, mopping, dusting, and bathroom cleaning
- Keeping household supplies stocked and organised
Laundry & Household Management
- Laundry management (washing, drying, folding, putting away)
- Changing bedding and refreshing towels
- Wardrobe and clothing organisation
Food & Meal Support
- Weekly meal planning
- Food shopping and pantry management
- Meal preparation and simple healthy cooking
- Keeping the fridge, freezer, and pantry organised
Family & Lifestyle Support
- Running errands (e.g. post office, returns, small shops)
- Preparing sports kits and ensuring bags/clothing are ready for activities
- Basic packing/unpacking for weekends away or holidays
- Helping keep the household running smoothly week-to-week

- Able to work independently and take initiative
- Comfortable with meal planning and simple cooking
- Someone who takes pride in maintaining a clean and organised home
- Friendly, positive, and happy to become part of the rhythm of the household
- Previous experience in a similar role preferred
- Trustworthy, reliable, discreet and able to maintain complete confidentiality and discretion within a private family home
