Senior Engineer – Geotechnical Renewal Scheme
Location: Bristol & surrounding areas
Rate: £400 per day
Contract Length: 6 Months
Start Date: 26 May 2026
We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to join a major geotechnical renewal scheme delivering high-value infrastructure works for Taylor Woodrow. This is a medium-term contract role suited to a strong site-based engineering professional with Tier 1 contractor experience and a proven track record progressing through engineering roles into senior site leadership.
The successful candidate will be a confident communicator, highly organised, and capable of managing all engineering delivery on site across a complex live project environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all engineering delivery on site for a major geotechnical renewal project
- Production and management of:
- Material approvals
- ITPs
- Red line drawings
- WPPs/RAMs
- Coordinate with the client and attend site meetings
- Manage and mentor junior engineers
- Carry out setting out duties where required using GPS and Total Station equipment
- Ensure engineering compliance, quality assurance, and safe delivery standards are maintained throughout the project
Working Arrangements
- Site-based role in and around Bristol from late May 2026
- Some office-based work in Bristol
- Occasional home working may be available
- Some weekend and night working may be required (not regular)
Important Project Information
Please note there is a planned 4-week possession period from 06/07/2026 to 03/08/2026, during which shift patterns will operate on a 24/7 basis. Candidates must be flexible and willing to work disruptive shift patterns during this period.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 8 years’ civil engineering experience
- Tier 1 contractor background
- HND/HNC, BEng or MEng in Civil Engineering
- ICE membership status (Graduate, IEng or MICE preferred)
- TWC CITB Ticket
- SMSTS
- Strong communication and leadership skills
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
- PTS (Rail)
- Appointed Person (AP)
- ALO Planner / Coordinator / Responsible Manager
