Assembly Operative (Soldering Experience Required)
Location: Cheltenham
Hours: Full Time, Monday to Friday ( early finish on Fridays)
Pay: Competitive, depending on experience
The Role
We are currently recruiting for a skilled Assembly Operative to join a small but busy manufacturing team in Cheltenham. This is an excellent opportunity to work with high-quality precision components in a clean and professional production environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling high-end products to exact specifications, ensuring exceptional quality standards are maintained throughout the manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities
- Assembly of precision and high-value components
- Soldering of electrical and electronic components
- Reading and following engineering drawings, work instructions and assembly procedures
- Conducting quality inspections throughout the assembly process
- Using hand tools and small assembly equipment
- Maintaining accurate production records where required
- Working to strict quality, safety and production standards
- Reporting any quality concerns or production issues to the relevant supervisor
Requirements
- Previous assembly or manufacturing experience
- Soldering experience is essential
- Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and technical documentation
- Experience working with small components and precision assemblies would be advantageous
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude
- Reliable and dependable with a strong work ethic
Desirable Skills
- IPC certification or previous electronics assembly experience
- Experience working within aerospace, defence, medical, electronics or other precision manufacturing environments
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings
