Health Innovations are recruiting for a Quality Assurance Technologist to join our team in Skipton. Health Innovations specialises in the formulation and manufacture of tablet and powder food supplements. Some of our most popular products include multi-vitamins, beauty supplements, powder blends, general health and wellbeing supplements.
Purpose of the Role
To ensure the quality and safety of products manufactured and packed by Health Innovations are maintained, and to support the QA team in the maintenance of quality standards in line with BRCGS and customer requirements. To support the operations team in meeting the requirements of implemented quality standards and the provision of released raw materials and finished stock in a timely manner.
Role Responsibilities
- Maintain good laboratory practice.
- Take part in keeping laboratory equipment in a clean and tidy manner where used and maintaining cleaning checklist.
- To conduct finish product and raw material testing in the laboratory in accordance with laboratory protocols in a timely manner.
- Raise CoAs for tested raw materials and finished products.
- Maintenance of laboratory control procedures and related documents and systems.
- To conduct internal calibration and testing of equipment in line with procedure within packing, manufacturing and the laboratory.
- Efficient sampling, testing and release of raw materials, semi-processed and packaging items as required in a timely manner.
- To conduct checks on the manufacturing and packing departments plaster issue registers
- Identification, control and efficient handling of non-conforming raw materials, blend, WIP and finished/packed products
- To conduct in process control inspections for each process step ensuring products manufactured and packed meet with the authorised product specification.
- To conduct weekly quality and hygiene inspections in the manufacturing and packing areas working with the operations team to maintain good standards of hygiene in line with BRC and customer standards through documented department inspections a minimum once per week per rota.
- Inspection of finished product and release against set criteria and release of manufactured and packed goods against AQL sample plan in area to be prioritised.
- To complete positive release allergen swabs on each process as required in a timely manner.
- To complete test data at various stages on the companies eMAX system.
- To be involved in projects that assist the quality and operations team in the maintenance of standard operation procedures and policies, in line with customer, legislative and BRC requirements and the reduction of waste.
- To support the Quality Manager in the quarantine control of superseded and obsolete materials both physically and within eMAX.
- To conduct site glass and hard plastic inspections monthly.
Working hours are 37.5 per week working across 5 days with occasional overtime available.
Hours are Monday to Friday to be discussed (15 min paid break, 30 min unpaid)
