Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to join our team as the Third in Charge and Baby Room Leader. This role involves overseeing daily nursery operations, providing exceptional care to infants, and supporting the team in delivering a nurturing environment. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the baby room team, ensuring high standards of childcare and safety at all times
- Assist in planning and implementing age-appropriate activities that promote developmental milestones
- Support the management team in daily nursery operations, including organising staff rotas and resource allocation
- Be the nursery SENCO
- Foster a warm, welcoming environment for children and their families, maintaining excellent communication with parents and carers
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, safeguarding policies, and early childhood education standards
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff members, promoting teamwork and professional growth
- Assist with administrative duties such as record keeping, updating child files, and reporting incidents as necessary
- Drive nursery vehicles when required for outings or errands, ensuring safe transportation of children
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with children in a nursery or early childhood setting
- Strong management and leadership abilities with previous supervisory experience preferred
- Knowledge of childcare practices, early childhood education principles, and safeguarding procedures
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine passion for working with young children
- Ability to organise tasks efficiently whilst maintaining attention to detail
- Valid driving licence is desirable for transporting children or running nursery-related errands
- Relevant childcare qualifications or early childhood education certifications are advantageous

Pay: £28,500.00 per year
