LCF Fun Languages require a qualified and/or experienced teacher with experience working in Key Stage 2, for a local school in the Orrell area of Wigan. With 'Le Club Francais', you will be teaching a course that has been tailored to meet the standards of the current curriculum. This post is a permanent role for a French teacher taking classes for two mornings per week, Thursday and Friday specifically, with scope to increase number of days should further opportunities within our area arise, either in our after school clubs or further in-school teaching.
The role would begin as soon as possible, ideally from June 2026.
Your main duties would include
- Teach French to 8 KS2 classes in the partner school, for 3 hours each day across 2 mornings, currently on Thursday and Friday (there isn't currently a possibility to change the day in this academic year, but possibly for the next) Initially you would start with one morning (Friday) and then with the potential to take over the 2nd morning from September too.
- Use the "Le Club Français" methodologies and tailored plans to teach the classes with our A L'Ecole in-school course and colour exercise books
- Assess and adjust lessons according to the needs of the individual school/class(es)
- Use and develop the current curriculum in tandem with the schools languages coordinator.
-Manage behaviour with modern behaviour management techniques & develop positive rapport with pupils to achieve optimal learning environment.
Requirements:
-You should be a suitably experienced or qualified teacher, either qualified in the KS2 age group or to teach MFL in the UK. If you don't have a teaching qualification you should have demonstrable experience and references from UK schools. Unfortunately experience working in other countries or non-teaching qualifications will not suffice for this role.
- The role requires a relatively local teacher, you should not be more than 40 minutes drive away as the early morning traffic will make this very difficult.
- You should have recent examples of teacher training CPD on your CV to demonstrate your mindset towards training and personal growth.
-You should be fluent or near-fluent in the target language (our lesson plans require and expect this)
-You would be required to work in the Wigan area and therefore have access to transport (public or personal) in order to get to the school, especially if you do not live in the area.
-This is a self-employed post so you will be required to register for self-assessment (help can be provided for those who have never done this before) and keep records of your income and expenses.
-Please do not apply if you are not living within 1 hour's drive/transport away - your reliability will be important for this post!
-Ideally you should have an enhanced DBS certificate and be subscribed to the DBS Update Service, otherwise you will need to apply for the DBS certificate through us, which we will pay for.
- You will be provided with training on a variety of CPD topics through LCF at no cost to you.
-References will be required, along with compliance of our Safeguarding policy and training requirements. Please note that applications without CVs will not be accepted due to safer recruitment policies in place.
Apply within - the job is only open until we find the right person for the job!
