Great children’s homes are built on a deep respect for young people, the delivery of best-practice support, and an unwavering commitment to their safety, wellbeing, and development.
Dakota Blue is supporting the search for a Outstanding Registered Manager to lead a new children’s residential home being built with real ambition, high expectations and a clear belief that children deserve more than “good enough”.
This role is for an experienced leader who understands that the children have a range of differing needs and need support and guidance to express these. These are the young people that need the most care and support.
We are looking for a Registered Manager with a strong Ofsted track record and the ability to demonstrate the part they have personally played in achieving and sustaining high standards.
Starting salary will reflect this track record:
- £55,000 to £60,000 dependant on experience.
Our homes have been sensitively and specifically created for children with more complex needs, children whose behaviour, and previous experiences may have resulted in failed placements. We believe that this has demonstrated that these children have not yet found the right home, the type of home which we aim to provide.
We are looking for a Registered Manager who through their Outstanding practice can see the potential in children, lead staff that build strong and sustainable relationships with children.
You will likely recognise yourself in this role as a leader who:
- Inspires and motivates staff through a clear vision that places young people at the centre of practice, ensuring every team member feels driven to help children achieve their goals and thrive.
- Creates a positive, engaging workforce culture where staff feel valued, supported, and confident to bring their best selves to work, especially during challenging moments.
- Develops staff skills and confidence by providing high-quality coaching, reflective supervision, and opportunities for learning, ensuring practice is continually strengthened in line with best-practice standards.
- Recognises and utilises staff’s transferable life skills, encouraging team members to draw on their diverse experiences, strengths, and insights to build meaningful relationships and deliver compassionate, effective support to young people.
This is an opportunity to influence more than a service. It is an opportunity to shape the feel of a home, the confidence of a team and the daily experience of children who need skilled adults around them to be caring, thoughtful and dependable.
