Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Supported Living Manager to oversee and coordinate care services within our supported living environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive experience in assisted living or nursing home settings, and a passion for delivering exceptional senior care. This role involves managing care plans, supervising staff, and ensuring the well-being and safety of residents with diverse needs, including dementia and Alzheimer’s care. The Supported Living Manager will play a pivotal role in fostering a compassionate, organised, and compliant care environment.
Duties
- Lead and supervise a team of care staff to deliver high-quality support tailored to individual resident needs.
- Develop, implement, and regularly review personalised care plans for residents, ensuring they meet health and wellbeing requirements.
- Oversee medication administration in accordance with prescribed protocols, maintaining accuracy and safety standards.
- Coordinate daily operations within the care home or supported living setting, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Provide specialised dementia and Alzheimer’s care, employing best practices to support residents’ cognitive and emotional well-being.
- Monitor residents’ progress and adapt care strategies as necessary to optimise quality of life.
- Maintain accurate documentation related to resident care, staff schedules, and operational procedures.
- Foster a positive environment that promotes independence, dignity, and respect for all residents.
- Liaise with families, healthcare professionals, and external agencies to ensure comprehensive support for residents.
- Lead staff training sessions on topics such as dementia care, medication management, and health & safety protocols.
Requirements
- Proven experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes or home care environments specialising in senior or dementia care.
- Strong leadership and supervising experience within a care setting.
- Knowledge of care plans development and implementation tailored to individual needs.
- Familiarity with medication administration procedures and regulatory compliance standards.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Compassionate approach with excellent communication skills to engage residents, families, and team members professionally.
- Relevant qualifications in nursing or healthcare management are highly desirable; experience in Alzheimer’s or dementia care is essential.
- Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining high standards of resident safety and comfort.
