Position Title: Vaccinator – COVID-19 and Influenza Support

Role Summary
We are seeking motivated and compassionate Vaccinator to support the safe delivery of COVID-19 and influenza vaccinations as part of the public health programme. The role will involve administering vaccines to eligible populations in line with clinical guidance, ensuring excellent patient care, and supporting the smooth operation of vaccination clinics.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely administer COVID-19 and influenza vaccines following national immunisation guidelines and local protocols.
- Provide clear information, reassurance, and informed consent discussions with patients.
- Maintain accurate documentation of vaccination records in line with data protection and reporting requirements.
- Follow infection prevention and control (IPC) measures, including use of PPE and safe disposal of clinical waste.
- Work collaboratively with other members of the vaccination team (administrators, healthcare assistants, site coordinators, and clinicians).
- Ensure clinics run efficiently, supporting patient flow and maintaining a safe, welcoming environment.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Registered healthcare professional (e.g., nurse, pharmacist, paramedic, healthcare support worker with vaccination training) OR trained vaccinator with appropriate competency certification.
- Previous experience delivering vaccinations (COVID-19, flu, or other immunisation programmes).
- Demonstrated ability to follow clinical protocols and work under supervision where necessary.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support people who may be anxious.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Understanding of infection control, safeguarding, and patient confidentiality.
Desirable Experience
- Up-to-date Basic Life Support (BLS) training.
- Experience in vaccination clinics.
