SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Southampton, Hampshire
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full-time / Part-time
We are currently recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants to work in schools across Southampton, supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities. This role is ideal for individuals with experience in SEN or those looking to develop a career in education.
Role Responsibilities:
- Supporting students with additional learning needs in the classroom
- Assisting teachers with lesson preparation and delivery
- Implementing individual support plans (ISPs) or education, health, and care plans (EHCPs)
- Helping students develop confidence, independence, and social skills
- Supporting behaviour management and maintaining a positive learning environment
Candidate Requirements:
- Experience working with children with SEN (preferred)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, empathy, and adaptability
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
