PFAS, founded in 1995, is an independent specialist organisation offering a diverse range of clinical products and services to the public and private sectors. We are currently looking for a Financial Accountant who will support the integrity of financial operations as part of a small Finance Team. This role focuses on maintaining accurate sales, purchase and general ledger records, and assisting with statutory financial reporting. Reporting to the Head of Finance, the successful candidate will ensure financial records meet regulatory and strict client standards.
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Main Job Duties

Accurate and timely preparation of the monthly management accounts pack including profit and loss and balance sheet.

Monthly reconciliation of balance sheet backing data including calculation of prepayments and accruals

Processing monthly payroll information and liaising with the external payroll provider to ensure monthly deadlines are adhered to.

Management of the payroll inbox to ensure that employee queries are resolved quickly and accurately

Daily reconciliation of the bank accounts to financial records.

Collation of financial data for review by the Head of Finance prior to submission to clients, including monthly client audit calls.

Monthly reconciliation and positive confirmation of Inter company accounts between PFAS and other IPRS Group businesses.

Assist with preparation of year-end financial audit documentation

Review and approval of supplier invoices against the Purchase Order System

Review and approval of employee expenses in line with expenses policy guidelines.

Review and approval of client sales invoicing submissions

Approval of weekly supplier and expenses payment run
General/Additional Duties:
-
To comply with the Corporate Data Protection Policy which covers all aspects of the organisation's business in both electronic data and manual filing systems.

To ensure that professional behavior, appearance, and attitude are maintained, and the organisation's policies and procedures are always adhered to.

To undertake any other duties compatible with the grading of the post, as required.
Required skills, Qualifications and Experience:
-
The successful candidate will be AAT qualified or actively working towards the qualification with confirmed passes in initial exams.

Minimum of 1 year experience working within a Finance Department

Proficient in Microsoft Excel (using v-look ups and pivot tables)

Proven experience using finance software is essential. Knowledge or experience of Access Dimensions is highly desirable.

High attention to detail, strict data confidentiality and strong organisation skills
Other Information:
Salary: £35,000
Position: Full-time, Initial 6 months fixed term contact. (Mon - Fri)
Location: Fully Remote.
