Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to provide high-quality care and assistance to individuals in various settings, including assisted living, nursing homes, and home care environments. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the physical, emotional, and social well-being of clients, ensuring they receive respectful and personalised care. Responsibilities
- Deliver personalised patient care, including assistance with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility support
- Assist with medication administration in accordance with prescribed schedules and protocols
- Support individuals with dementia, Alzheimer's, or other cognitive impairments through behaviour management techniques
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements and assist with meal consumption as needed
- Provide emotional support and companionship to clients, fostering a positive environment
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe living space
- Support clients with mobility and transportation needs, including driving them to appointments or activities
- Handle heavy lifting safely when required for moving or repositioning clients or equipment
- Recognise signs of medical emergencies and administer first aid when necessary
- Document care provided accurately in compliance with organisational policies
Qualifications
- Previous experience in assisted living, nursing home care, or home care environments is highly desirable
- Knowledge of caring for individuals with Alzheimer's, dementia, or hospice needs is advantageous
- Relevant qualifications such as Care Certificate or equivalent are preferred
- First aid certification is desirable
- Valid driving licence for transportation duties is preferred but not essential
- Excellent communication skills and compassionate nature are essential
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle physically demanding tasks
- Reliable, organised, and able to work independently or as part of a team
