Overview
We are seeking a reliable Gateman/Traffic Marshall to oversee site access and ensure safety protocols are maintained on construction sites. This role is vital in directing traffic, managing vehicle movements, and supporting overall site security. The position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with construction experience and strong communication skills to contribute to a safe working environment.
Duties
- Control entry and exit points of the construction site, verifying authorised personnel and vehicles
- Direct traffic flow efficiently around the site to prevent congestion and ensure safety
- Assist with the movement of lorries and other vehicles, ensuring adherence to safety procedures
- Communicate effectively with drivers, site workers, and management using clear English
- Monitor site access points for unauthorised personnel or vehicles and report any irregularities
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle movements and visitor logs
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
Experience
- Previous experience in construction or traffic management is preferred but not essential
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Valid driving licence is required for operating or assisting with vehicle movement within the site
- Ability to remain alert and vigilant during long shifts, often working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Good organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently

Pay: £17.70-£19.06 per hour
