About the Opportunity
Our client, a leading organisation within the pharmaceutical manufacturing sector, is seeking a Process Technician to join their Seed Manufacturing team. This role is responsible for supporting the manufacture of viral seed stocks used in the influenza vaccine production process.
The successful candidate will play a key role in manufacturing operations, ensuring compliance with GMP, quality, and safety standards while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence.
Key ResponsibilitiesManufacturing Operations
- Operate manufacturing processes in accordance with approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Manufacturing Instructions (MIs).
- Ensure production activities are controlled, monitored, and completed to required standards.
- Complete all manufacturing documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Perform final reviews and sign-off of manufacturing documentation to support right-first-time performance.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
- Support the review and update of SOPs and manufacturing documentation where required.
GMP, Quality & Compliance
- Promote and maintain a strong cGMP-compliant culture.
- Follow all relevant GMP, regulatory, and quality requirements.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and cleanliness within production areas.
- Support audits, inspections, and quality investigations as required.
- Apply Lean Manufacturing principles, including 5S, waste elimination, problem-solving, and energy efficiency initiatives.
Teamwork & Communication
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives.
- Provide and receive constructive feedback to support team performance.
- Escalate issues through the appropriate reporting channels and contribute to effective solutions.
- Build positive working relationships with internal stakeholders and support business objectives.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve process, equipment, and team performance.
- Support organisational change and continuous improvement projects.
- Contribute ideas that enhance operational efficiency, quality, safety, and productivity.
Training & Development
- Complete all required training in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date training records.
- Continue to develop skills and competencies to support current and future business needs.
- Demonstrate the practical application of skills and knowledge required for the role.
Skills & ExperienceEssential
- Experience working within a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, sterile manufacturing, or other regulated production environment.
- Basic understanding of cGMP principles.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to follow procedures and complete documentation accurately.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, compliance, and housekeeping.
Desirable
- Technical qualification or training in Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Manufacturing, or a related discipline.
- Experience working within a cleanroom environment.
- Basic mechanical aptitude or experience operating manufacturing equipment.
- Experience supporting continuous improvement activities.
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles.
