Residential Childcare Worker
Location: Salford, M44
Salary: (£13 - £13.50/hr at 35hrs per week)
- £1,000 welcome bonus (£500 on successful completion of induction, £500 on successful completion of probation)
- 1 day on, 2 days off – average of 10 working days per month
- Paid overtime (£14.50/hr)
- Sleep-ins available as required (£75 per night)

What you’ll do:
You’ll be part of a close-knit team helping children feel safe, supported, and optimistic about their future. You’ll:
- Build relationships based on trust, consistency and respect
- Support daily routines – school runs, meals, activities, emotional support
- Be a reliable adult during challenging moments
- Record key events and insights that help show each child’s progress
- Champion education, wellbeing, life skills and positive experiences
- Help make the house feel like home
What we’re looking for:
This could be right for you if:
- You’ve worked in care, education, youth work, or similar roles
- Or, you’ve never worked in this field but have life experience, emotional resilience and a natural way with people
- You stay calm in tough moments and want to learn how to support children through trauma
- You’re comfortable working alone at times and following structured routines
- You hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a car (essential)

Any reclaim will be calculated on a pro-rata basis at 1/12th of the total bonus for each full month not completed.
