About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and reliable Carpenter to join our social housing maintenance team. The successful candidate will carry out a wide range of carpentry repairs, maintenance, and refurbishment works within occupied and void social housing properties, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in line with health and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out reactive and planned carpentry maintenance works
- Install, repair, and maintain doors, frames, skirting boards, kitchens, flooring, and other timber fixtures
- Complete first and second-fix carpentry tasks
- Undertake minor multi-trade repairs where required
- Diagnose faults and recommend appropriate repair solutions
- Ensure properties are left clean, safe, and tidy upon completion
- Deliver excellent customer service when working in tenants' homes
- Complete all paperwork and reports accurately
- Adhere to company policies, health and safety regulations, and industry standards
Requirements
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Carpentry and Joinery (or equivalent experience)
- Proven experience working within social housing, residential maintenance, or property repairs
- Full UK driving licence
- Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- DBS check may be required
Desirable Skills
- Experience in occupied and void property maintenance
- Multi-trade experience including basic plumbing, tiling, or plastering
- Knowledge of social housing repairs and maintenance contracts
