Primary Inclusion Teacher
Location: Primary School, Nelson
Working Hours: Full Time (Monday – Friday, 8am - 4pm)
Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract (Initially 1 Year)
Start Date: September 2026
Pay: Competitive pay depending on experience
We are currently recruiting for a lovely welcoming primary school in Nelson, for an experienced and nurturing Inclusion Teacher. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate teacher who is committed to supporting children with additional needs and helping every child reach their full potential in a highly inclusive environment.
The successful candidate will work across two small classes supporting pupils who are currently unable to access full-time mainstream education. You will play a key role in delivering engaging, personalised learning experiences that support children academically, socially and emotionally.
The Role:
- Deliver high-quality teaching tailored to children with SEND and additional learning needs.
- Plan and adapt learning using a creative and inclusive approach.
- Support pupils in developing communication, literacy, numeracy and social skills.
- Help shape and develop a nurturing learning environment and curriculum.
- Work collaboratively with support staff, parents and external professionals.
- Lead and manage a small team within the provision.
- Use effective behaviour management strategies to support positive outcomes.
- Monitor progress and ensure children are making meaningful developmental gains.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- At least 3 years’ experience teaching within a primary school setting
- Experience supporting children with SEND
- Strong knowledge of the EYFS and Primary National Curriculum
- Excellent behaviour management and communication skills
- A reflective and nurturing approach to teaching
- High expectations for all pupils
- The ability to build strong relationships with children, families and colleagues
- Knowledge of SEND-based curriculums
Essential Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (Child Workforce) or willingness to obtain one
- Right to Work in the UK
- Recent relevant professional references
- Ability to reliably commute to the Burnley area
