Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced, dedicated and compassionate Residential Manager to oversee the daily operations of our residential children’s care home provision. Ideal candidate will possess a strong background in residential children’s homes, demonstrating exceptional leadership skills. This role is pivotal in ensuring that young people receive the highest quality of care while fostering a supportive and nurturing environment.
Duties
- Manage the overall operations of the residential facility, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices in care delivery.
- Develop, implement, and review individual care plans for residents, tailoring services to meet their unique needs.
- Supervise and support staff members, providing guidance and training to enhance their skills in residential care and other specialised areas.
- Foster a positive atmosphere within the home, encouraging young people involvement and participation in activities.
- Conduct regular assessments of young people's well being and satisfaction, addressing any concerns promptly and effectively.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate services for young people as required.
- Maintain accurate records related to resident care and staff performance, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.
Experience
A minimum of NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management in children’s services is essential.
- Senior position in a registered children’s home: 2 years (required)
- Proven experience in a leadership role for a minimum of 2 years within a residential children’s home setting is essential.
- Familiarity with children’s home care practices is also essential.
- Experience in developing care plans and supervising staff members is crucial for success in this role.
- A background in working with individuals with social, emotional and mental health difficulties is essential.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively are necessary for this position.
