Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Code Coach to support learners in developing their coding skills. This paid position offers an opportunity to inspire and guide individuals, particularly children, through engaging programming lessons. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and a passion for education, with experience in tutoring or teaching coding concepts. The role involves working closely with learners to foster confidence and understanding in a supportive environment.
Duties
- Deliver engaging coding lessons tailored to the learner’s age and ability levels
- Provide personalised tutoring to help learners grasp programming fundamentals and problem-solving techniques
- Support children and young learners, including those with special educational needs, ensuring an inclusive learning experience
- Develop customised lesson plans and activities that promote active participation and interest in coding
- Monitor progress and provide constructive feedback to encourage continuous improvement
- Maintain a positive, motivating environment that fosters curiosity and confidence in coding skills
- Collaborate with programme coordinators to plan sessions and track learner development
Qualifications
- Proven experience in tutoring or teaching, particularly in coding or computer science
- Strong communication skills, capable of explaining complex concepts clearly and patiently
- Experience working with children, including those with special educational needs, is highly desirable
- Passion for education and technology, with a proactive approach to supporting learner growth
- Organised, reliable, and able to adapt teaching methods to suit individual needs
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in computer science, education, or related fields are advantageous but not essential
