We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a proactive and detail-focused Conveyancing Assistant to join their busy Conveyancing department. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with legal experience who enjoys working at pace and takes pride in delivering high-quality support.
In this role, you’ll play a key part in supporting lawyers within the team, helping to free up their time so they can focus on more complex legal matters. You’ll also be an important point of contact for clients, contributing to strong working relationships and supporting a positive and collaborative working environment.
The Role
As part of the Conveyancing team, you will be responsible for a wide range of administrative and legal support tasks, including:
- Managing client matters where appropriate
- Typing correspondence, opening and maintaining files, and filing documentation
- Ordering searches and Land Registry documents
- Preparing files for billing
- Screening incoming telephone calls
- Sorting, prioritising and responding to mail, emails and messages
- Preparing straightforward legal documents
- Delivering a professional, friendly, and efficient service to clients
In addition, you’ll support the wider team by:
- Liaising with clients and other parties to provide timely updates throughout the transaction process
- Providing reception cover when required
What We’re Looking For
Essential skills and experience:
- Previous experience in a legal role
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- The ability to remain calm, polite, and professional in a variety of situations
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Sound general administrative experience
- Confidence working at pace with a varied workload
- The ability to produce high-quality work under pressure
- A collaborative approach and the ability to build positive working relationships
- Professional presentation and a flexible, adaptable attitude
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office
