Job Title: Electrical & Mechanical Engineer
Location: Peterborough
Salary: £35,000 – £47,000
The Role:
We are seeking an Electrical & Mechanical Engineer on behalf of our client to join a well-established engineering business supporting both workshop and site-based operations.
This is a varied, hands-on role involving the inspection, repair, overhaul, and maintenance of electrical and mechanical equipment, including motors, pumps, and gearboxes.
You will work predominantly within a workshop environment, with regular site visits to support installation, removal, and repair works, representing the business to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities:
- Stripping and assessing pumps, electric motors, gearboxes, and associated equipment
- Carrying out repairs, rewinds, overhauls, and testing to completion
- Attending site to support removal, installation, and repair of equipment
- Diagnosing faults across electrical and mechanical systems
- Supporting breakdown and emergency works as part of an on-call rota
- Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in line with safety requirements
Requirements:
- Experience as an Electrical & Mechanical Engineer or similar role
- Knowledge of motors, pumps, and rotating equipment
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Methodical approach with strong attention to detail
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Full UK driving licence
- Relevant electrical and/or mechanical qualifications (desirable)
