Overview
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Part-time Kitchen Porter to join our busy hospitality team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen, supporting culinary staff, and ensuring smooth kitchen operations. Previous experience in food preparation or hospitality is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided. Responsibilities
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks under supervision, including washing vegetables and preparing ingredients.
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas, including washing dishes, pots, pans, and utensils to high hygiene standards.
- Support chefs and kitchen staff with organisational tasks to ensure efficient workflow during service periods.
- Ensure all kitchen equipment and surfaces are kept sanitised and well-maintained.
- Dispose of waste appropriately and ensure recycling procedures are followed.
- Restock supplies as needed to ensure the kitchen remains fully equipped for daily operations.
- Follow health and safety regulations at all times to maintain a safe working environment.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality setting is desirable but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices is beneficial.
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn new skills related to food preparation and kitchen operations.
- Flexibility to work part-time hours, including evenings or weekends if required.
