Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Science Tutor to provide academic support to students in various subjects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in teaching and tutoring (with at least 2 years' tutoring/teaching experience), with a particular focus on fostering a positive learning environment. This role involves working closely with students to enhance their understanding of the material, build confidence, and develop effective study skills.
Duties
- Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions tailored to individual student needs
- Assist students with homework, exam preparation, and understanding difficult concepts
- Develop personalised lesson plans that align with the curriculum and learning objectives
- Monitor student progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and educators regarding academic performance and areas for improvement
- Create a supportive and engaging learning atmosphere that encourages student participation
- Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions and student progress
Requirements
- Proven experience in tutoring or teaching, preferably in a formal educational setting. Must be PGCE or QTS qualified or completing towards the respective qualifications.
- Must be able to travel for in-person sessions to 548 Ley St, IG2 7DB
- Must be able to commit till June 2026
- Experience working with children, demonstrating patience and understanding of their unique learning styles
- Knowledge of special education practices is advantageous but not mandatory
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey information clearly and effectively
- Ability to motivate and inspire students to achieve their academic goals
- Strong organisational skills to manage multiple students and their individual needs effectively
