Overview
We’re looking for a proactive, organised, and customer-focused individual to join our busy branch team. This role offers a mix of customer service, sales administration, and operational support, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and great experiences for our customers. You’ll work closely with customers, field engineers, and internal teams to keep everything running like clockwork.
Key Responsibilities
Quotations & Customer Enquiries
- Respond to customer enquiries by phone, email, or in person.
- Prepare accurate and timely quotations.
- Liaise with design or purchasing teams to gather information for quotes.
Office Administration
- General admin duties including data entry, filing, and email management.
- Maintain accurate records for quotes, orders, and stock.
- Support purchasing, invoicing, and other admin workflows.
Stock Control & Logistics
- Book in deliveries and keep inventory records up to date.
- Pick and prepare customer orders for dispatch or collection.
- Conduct regular stock checks and resolve discrepancies.
Customer Service & Sales Support
- Welcome and assist walk-in customers.
- Answer incoming calls and direct as needed.
- Proactively make outbound calls during quieter periods.
- Keep product knowledge up to date to handle enquiries effectively.
Field Engineer & Design Support
- Provide admin and logistical support to field engineers.
- Ensure engineers have the stock, tools, and paperwork needed for jobs.
Requirements
Essential:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong IT skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Highly organised with the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
- Proactive and able to work on your own or as part of a team.
- Full UK driving licence (for occasional local deliveries).
Desirable:
- Previous experience in office admin, trade counter, or internal sales.
- Knowledge of fire alarm systems or electrical products.
- Experience using stock or CRM systems.
