Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced 1:1 SEND Support Early Years practitioner to join our team at Holly Grove Childcare in Armthorpe, Doncaster. This role involves providing tailored support to young children with special educational needs, ensuring they receive the individual attention necessary for their development and well-being.
This is a term time only role, with opportunities for overtime
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one support to children with special educational needs in an early years setting.
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, and specialists to develop and implement personalized care plans.
- Assist in creating an inclusive environment that promotes learning and social interaction.
- Monitor and record children's progress, reporting any concerns to relevant professionals.
- Support children's emotional and behavioral development through positive reinforcement.
- Ensure health and safety regulations are consistently followed.
- Participate in team meetings and ongoing training related to SEND support.
- Adapt activities and communication methods to meet individual children's needs.
- Qualifications - level 3
- Proven experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly in early years.
- Knowledge of autism spectrum disorder, disabilities, and inclusive teaching strategies.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach to supporting young children.
- Relevant qualifications in early childhood education or special education (e.g., CACHE Level 3 or equivalent).
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Desirable: Experience working specifically with children on the autism spectrum.
