Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 5:00pm

Fairfax Plant Hire is one of Yorkshire's leading independent plant hire companies, operating from depots across Selby, Leeds and Hull. As part of our continued growth and investment programme, we are looking to recruit a Workshop Plant Fitter to join our busy Leeds depot.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working on a wide variety of construction equipment and wants to be part of a stable, growing business that invests heavily in both its fleet and its people.
The Role
Working within our workshop team, you will be responsible for the inspection, servicing, maintenance and repair of a wide range of plant and equipment, ensuring machines are prepared to the highest standard for customer hire.
Equipment includes:
- Excavators
- Dumpers
- Rollers
- Telehandlers
- Access equipment
- General construction plant
Manufacturers include CAT, Volvo, Hitachi, Kubota, Bomag, Thwaites and many others.
What We're Looking For
We welcome applications from experienced Plant Fitters, HGV Technicians, Agricultural Engineers, Mechanical Engineers and candidates with transferable skills.
More important than industry experience is the right attitude, willingness to learn and commitment to delivering high standards.
You will ideally have:
- NVQ level 2 or 3 in Plant Maintenance, Heavy Vehicle Maintenance, Mechanical engineering or plant maintenance experience
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- A positive, can-do attitude
- Good attention to detail
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A commitment to safety and quality
- Previous experience working on construction plant, agricultural machinery, HGV or commercial vehicles.
