Job Title: Purchase Ledger Administrator

Compensation: £16,000 per annum (pro-rata)

About The Role
Based within the Central Finance Team we are seeking a Purchase Ledger Administrator to join on a part time basis. The role is Responsible for ensuring supplier invoices are processed accurately and payments are made on time, supporting the smooth running of the finance function. The role is important in maintaining strong supplier relationships, accurate financial records, and effective control of company expenditure.
Key responsibilities:

Process supplier invoices accurately and in a timely manner.

Match invoices to purchase orders where required.

Prepare supplier payment runs and help ensure payments are made on time.

Reconcile supplier statements and resolve invoice or payment queries.

Maintain accurate purchase ledger records.

Liaise with suppliers, internal departments, and work closely with the Finance Clerk to resolve issues quickly and support the smooth running of the purchase ledger.

Support month end tasks, including checking outstanding invoices and accrual information.

Help meet team targets for accuracy, timely processing, and prompt query resolution.

Assist the Management and the Finance team with any other ad hoc duties
What we're looking for:
We are looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented individual with previous purchase ledger or accounts payable experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced finance environment. The successful candidate will be proactive, reliable, and committed to maintaining accurate financial records while ensuring supplier invoices and payments are processed efficiently and on time. This is a part-time office based role.
Skills & Qualifications:

A minimum of 5 GCSEs or equivalent, including Maths and English.

At least 2 years’ experience in a purchase ledger role or similar accounts payable environment.

Good understanding of invoice processing, supplier payments, statement reconciliations, and query resolution.

Confident using finance systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, to maintain accurate records and process information efficiently.

Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with suppliers, internal departments, and the Finance Clerk.

Good organisational skills with the ability to manage workloads, meet deadlines, and prioritise tasks.

High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem solving.

Able to work as part of a team and maintain a professional approach when dealing with queries.
