Duties
- Conduct comprehensive inspections of vehicles using schematics and technical manuals
- Perform repairs and maintenance tasks, including engine, transmission, brake systems, and electrical components
- Utilise hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to carry out assembly and disassembly procedures
- Interpret technical diagrams and schematics to diagnose issues accurately
- Carry out welding and equipment repair as required to restore vehicle integrity
- Perform heavy lifting tasks safely when handling vehicle parts or components
- Maintain detailed records of all work carried out for each vehicle
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and manufacturer specifications
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs and maintenance procedures clearly to clients
Qualifications
- Proven experience in vehicle repair or maintenance is preferred but not essential; relevant training or apprenticeships will be considered
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read schematics and technical diagrams
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment
- Knowledge of vehicle assembly processes and routine maintenance procedures
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail in record keeping
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients
- Physical fitness suitable for the demands of the role, including standing for extended periods and manual handling tasks
