As Sous Chef, you will play a key role in the leadership of the kitchen, working closely with the Head Chef to maintain the high standards that have earned the property its excellent reputation.
This role would suit either an experienced Sous Chef looking for a fresh challenge or a strong Junior Sous Chef ready to step into a more senior position within a quality fresh food operation.
As Sous Chef you will:
- Support the Head Chef in the day-to-day management of the kitchen
- Lead and inspire the brigade during service
- Assist with the creation of seasonal menus and daily specials
- Ensure consistently high standards of food quality and presentation
- Help manage stock control, ordering, and food costs
- Train and mentor junior members of the team
- Maintain excellent food hygiene and health and safety standards
- Take responsibility for the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence
The ideal candidate will have a strong fresh food background and experience within a quality gastro pub, restaurant, or hotel environment where standards are paramount.
