Job Overview
We are seeking a professional HGV Class 1 Tramper to operate from Knowsley - responsible for delivering goods as trunks, collecting groupage, general haulage and various other movements of large / heavy goods.
The role involves long-distance driving, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining high safety standards. This position offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers looking to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, with the flexibility of tramper routes.
£25 a week bonus for keeping a clean card and overtime paid at £18 an hour, with £25 per night out.
Our Trampers generally stay out 4 nights a week and earn around 15 hours overtime on an average week.
Responsibilities
- Operate HGV Class 1 lorries, primarily curtainside trailers, across national routes from Kirkby.
- Safely load and unload goods, ensuring securement during transit.
- Conduct pre-journey checks on the vehicle to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with safety regulations.
- Plan routes efficiently to meet delivery schedules and optimise fuel consumption.
- Complete all necessary documentation accurately and promptly.
- Maintain a professional attitude when interacting with clients and colleagues.
- Adhere strictly to legal driving hours and tachograph regulations.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any faults or issues immediately.
Qualifications
- Valid HGV Class 1 licence with relevant experience in commercial driving.
- Proven delivery driver experience, preferably with flatbed vehicles.
- Strong knowledge of UK road networks and route planning.
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Flexibility to undertake long-distance trips and overnight stays as required.
