About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Cleaner to join our team at Foulridge St Michael and All Angels School. The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic environment for our pupils, staff, and visitors.
Working under the direction of the Site Supervisor, you will ensure that designated areas of the school are cleaned to a high standard in line with agreed quality expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Cleaning Duties
- General cleaning, including end-of-day/closure cleaning
- Sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping floors
- Emptying litter bins and waste disposal
- Dusting and polishing surfaces, fixtures, and fittings
- Cleaning toilets and shower facilities, including replenishing supplies (e.g. soap, paper towels, toilet rolls)
- Reporting any damage, hazards, or maintenance issues to the Site Supervisor or senior staff
- Notifying when cleaning supplies require replenishment
- Undertaking training in the correct use of cleaning equipment
- Supporting additional cleaning for school events (e.g. open evenings, visits)
General Duties
- Follow all school policies and Health & Safety procedures at all times
- Participate in the schools appraisal process where appropriate
- Carry out other duties appropriate to the role as directed by the Headteacher or Governing Body
