Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Van Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of goods to various locations. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to handle heavy lifting as part of the daily responsibilities. The Van Driver will play a crucial role in ensuring that our logistics operations run smoothly and efficiently.
Duties
- Safely operate a van to deliver goods to designated addresses within scheduled timeframes
- Load and unload items, ensuring proper handling and securement during transit
- Navigate routes efficiently using GPS or maps, adhering to traffic laws and company policies
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules or issues
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts, reporting any maintenance needs
- Assist with warehouse tasks including organising stock, heavy lifting, and inventory management when required
- Maintain accurate delivery records and documentation in accordance with company procedures
- Uphold safety standards at all times, including adherence to health and safety regulations
Experience
- Previous experience as a delivery driver is preferred, with a strong understanding of driving practices.
- Valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record
- Experience in warehouse operations or logistics is advantageous
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary, demonstrating physical fitness for the role
- Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and customers
- Proven ability to manage time efficiently and work independently under minimal supervision
