Job Description:
We are a family run business looking for a Class 1 Driver on a full-time and permanent basis to expand their business.
You will need to have experience with heavy lifting and be able to complete multi-drop deliveries that incorporates 90% handball, throughout the UK, and frequent paid night outs.
The role is Monday-Friday. Weekend work and overtime will be available during our busy periods. Training will be provided.
Please note: Early morning starts—sometimes as early as 4:00 AM—may be necessary depending on travel requirements. The benefit of these early starts is that you’ll typically finish earlier in the day.
Duties:
- Safely operate a commercial truck to transport goods and materials to designated locations.
- Load and unload heavy cargo using and secure it properly.
- Follow all traffic laws and regulations while driving.
- Inspect vehicles for mechanical issues and perform basic maintenance tasks.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel usage.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members.
Requirements:
- Valid CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card (Essential).
- Proven experience as a truck driver.
- Ability to drive long distances and work flexible hours, including nights out.
- Excellent knowledge of traffic laws and regulations.
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact professionally with customers and team members.
- Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks, such as checking tire pressure and fluid levels.
