About the Role:
Bright Futures Children’s Care Ltd is seeking an experienced Ofsted Registered Manager to lead our residential children’s home in Erith, Kent. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of the home’s operations, ensuring compliance with the Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards (2015), and delivering high-quality emotional and physical care to children and young people.
As Registered Manager, you will provide leadership and development for the staff team, manage budgets, oversee safeguarding, and ensure the home meets the highest standards of care and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage, coordinate, and develop services for children in the home.
- Provide leadership and supervision to staff, including induction, appraisal, and professional development.
- Ensure compliance with all legislative and regulatory requirements.
- Promote partnership working with young people, families, staff, and external agencies.
- Lead on recruitment, vetting, and safer recruitment practices.
- Oversee budgets, financial records, and administrative compliance.
- Maintain high standards of accommodation, safety, and well-being.
- Monitor and review incidents, implementing improvements as necessary.
Person Specification:
Experience & Qualifications:
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, or working towards it (Level 3/4 considered with extensive deputy managerial experience)
- Minimum 2 years’ experience managing a residential children’s home
- Experience with children with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD)
- Knowledge of budget management and Ofsted-regulated settings
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong numeracy, literacy, and technology skills
- Effective leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to maintain professional relationships with external agencies
- Skilled in conflict resolution and staff debriefing

Additional Requirements:
- Satisfactory enhanced DBS and Safer Recruitment vetting
- Full UK driving licence (preferred)
- Legal right to work in the UK
- Ability to do on call duties 24/7 including weekends
