About the Role
We are seeking a passionate, dedicated, and experienced SEN Teacher to join a specialist provision within a welcoming primary school in Northampton. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference to the lives of children with a range of special educational needs, supporting them to achieve their full potential in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
The provision caters for pupils who require additional support beyond that available in a mainstream classroom, providing tailored learning programmes and personalised interventions to meet individual needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the diverse needs of pupils with SEND.
- Create a safe, supportive, and stimulating learning environment where every child can thrive.
- Develop and implement individual learning plans and strategies to support pupil progress.
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, school staff, parents, carers, and external agencies.
- Monitor, assess, and report on pupil progress, adapting teaching approaches where necessary.
- Support pupils' social, emotional, and behavioural development alongside their academic learning.
- Contribute to the ongoing development and success of the school's specialist provision.
About You
We welcome applications from experienced SEN practitioners who are passionate about supporting children with additional needs.
Essential Requirements:
- Experience teaching children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
- Experience working within a specialist provision, resource base, SEN school, or similar specialist setting.
- Strong understanding of a range of SEND, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Speech and Language needs, ADHD, SEMH, and associated learning difficulties.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to adapt teaching approaches to meet individual pupil needs.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Desirable Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is desirable but not essential.
- Additional SEND qualifications or specialist training.
- Experience leading interventions and supporting EHCP outcomes.
