Overview
We are seeking reliable and professional freelance event drivers to support a variety of events across the region. This role involves transporting equipment, supplies, and personnel safely and efficiently. Successful candidates will possess strong driving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to punctuality. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers looking for flexible, paid work on a freelance basis.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles, including vans and lorries, to transport event-related items between venues and storage locations
- Load and unload equipment with care, including heavy lifting when necessary
- Ensure all deliveries are completed on time whilst adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations
- Conduct basic maintenance checks on vehicles prior to each shift to ensure roadworthiness
- Communicate effectively with event organisers and team members regarding schedules, routes, and any issues encountered during transit
- Assist with setting up and dismantling equipment at event sites as required
- Maintain organised records of deliveries and vehicle maintenance activities
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s licence suitable for commercial driving (e.g., LGV or van licence)
- Proven experience as a delivery or event driver, with a strong understanding of driving regulations and safety procedures
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently when handling equipment or supplies
- Excellent communication skills to liaise with clients, team members, and event staff effectively
- Good organisational skills with the ability to plan routes and manage time effectively
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance basics to identify potential issues before journeys commence
