Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Nursery Apprentice to join our vibrant early childhood education team. This paid apprenticeship offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about working with children and developing management and leadership skills within a nurturing environment. The successful candidate will support daily nursery activities, assist with child supervision, and gain valuable experience in childcare and early years education.
Duties
- Assist qualified nursery staff in delivering engaging activities tailored to children's developmental needs
- Support the supervision and care of children, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Help organise and maintain a clean, safe, and stimulating environment for children
- Participate in planning educational activities that promote learning through play
- Support with daily routines such as meal times, nap times, and hygiene practices
- Contribute to the development of positive relationships with children, parents, and team members
- Assist with administrative tasks related to childcare records and activity documentation
- Support management in implementing nursery policies and procedures
- Drive company vehicles when required for nursery outings or errands
Qualifications
- Experience working with children or in a childcare setting is desirable but not essential; enthusiasm to learn is key
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Passion for early childhood education and child development
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
- Leadership qualities with an interest in management development within childcare settings
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and demonstrate a caring attitude towards children
- Valid driving licence is advantageous for transporting children or supplies when necessary
- Willingness to undertake relevant training programmes to enhance childcare knowledge and skills
Pay: £8.00-£10.00 per hour
